CESIST Program – Team Consolidation by Service at IST
The CESIST Program – Team Consolidation by Service at IST was created to support team-building activities within the central services of Instituto Superior Técnico. The goal is to strengthen Técnico’s guiding values by encouraging their internalization and practical application in daily life. Each service will have €30 per person (Technical and Administrative staff) to organize team-building activities, with the budget managed by the IST Ombudsperson. This program is part of the Guiding Values Ambassadors Program, offering an excellent opportunity to promote and live out the institution’s values in a practical way.
Choosing Activities
How can I ensure the activity aligns with Técnico’s values?
The activity should clearly promote one or more of Técnico’s guiding values: integrity, respect, collaboration, innovation, and excellence. When submitting your proposal, explain clearly how the activity allows participants to experience and reflect on these values.
What does ensuring active participation by all mean?
The activity should ensure that all team members participate—or have a meaningful opportunity to participate. Choose activities that foster collaboration, active listening, and effective communication, ensuring everyone has the chance to contribute.
How important is reflection in the activity?
After the activity, time should be set aside for reflection, where participants can discuss how the activity connects to the guiding values and how they can apply those values in their daily routines.
How can I measure the impact of the activity on the team?
Assess how the activity contributes to meaningful changes in team behavior, particularly in relation to the guiding values. The impact should be noticeable in the team’s daily dynamics and help strengthen institutional culture.
Submitting Proposals

Who will evaluate the proposals?

What happens after the proposal is approved?
Once the proposal is approved, the activity must be implemented as planned, following the established guidelines.
Is it necessary to submit a report after the activity?
Yes. After the activity takes place, a short report must be submitted outlining what was done. This report will be shared within the Guiding Values Ambassadors Program. Submit your report via this link.
