What to expect from the Ombudsman Office
Confidentiality:The Ombudsmen are bound by a commitment to confidentiality regarding the information they have access to.
Impartiality and Independence:Their actions must be guided by the principles of impartiality and independence.
Mediation and Conciliation and Equity:They conduct their activities in accordance with the law, intervening in matters raised to them from a perspective of mediation and conciliation of interests, guided by judgments of equity.
Transparency:They prepare annual reports to be presented to the School Council, describing the activities carried out, including the number of complaints and grievances received, the subject matter involved, the recommendations made, and the recipients’ response to those recommendations.
Action:They take action upon formal or informal reports, namely by convening meetings to assess the reported situations.
